Livingdocs Release November 2025: Media Center and Distribution Dates
Every other month, we at Livingdocs release an updated version of our product wherein we expand its functionality with new features, capabilities and improvements. Now, our November 2025 Release is live and ready for users to explore.
Media Center: Multiselect & Batch Actions
Every day, newsrooms handle thousands of images — keeping things organised is key. In Livingdocs, editors can already send selected images to an article’s inbox, archive them for later use or delete the ones that just create clutter.
Now, we’ve made these everyday tasks much faster and more seamless: you can select multiple images at once and perform actions in a single step.
It works just like selecting files on your desktop: click to choose, use Ctrl (or Cmd) to add or remove individual images or hold Shift to select an entire range.
Better UX for Distribution Dates
Planning Boards offer a simple, lightweight way to decide what gets published today, tomorrow or next week. Each article’s Distribution Date defines when it should be ready for placement.
In the fast pace of a newsroom, there’s no time for clunky workflows. Now, setting Distribution Dates is easier than ever.
With the new "Today" and "Tomorrow" shortcut buttons, you can add content to the Planning Board with a single click. And when you adjust a date manually, your changes are saved instantly — no more extra confirmation click needed.
Further improvements in the November 2025 Release include:
-
Media Center: Denser modal dialog
Changing the image for an article's component involves a modal dialog with images to choose from. In a recent iteration, we made this dialog larger in size, resulting in larger previews. Now, we have utilised the additional space to house up to 6 grid columns with regular sized previews. This is especially helpful when working with the more extensive display of metadata in media cards which we introduced with the September 2025 Release.
-
Target length: Consolidated configuration options
In the past releases, we have continuously extended the possibilities to define an article's target length. The options include a slider with predefined sizes, as well as the choice of defining either an exact number of characters or an approximate amount of lines. We overhauled the configuration options to define more clearly which ways of defining the target length should be available, making on-the-fly transitions between them work smoothly.
-
News Agency Reports: Ongoing development
After building up the foundation for News Agency Reports in the past two releases, we've continued to iterate on it. The high frequency of News Agency Reports is driving how we further optimise the usability. Additonally, we have worked on making terminology from News Agencies more descriptive to users.
Breaking Changes & Upcoming Deprecations
In order to keep Livingdocs as streamlined and user-friendly as possible, we periodically remove features when we have found better solutions to the problems they solve. We will always give you ample notice so that you have plenty of time to make adaptations to your setup.
In the November Release, there are some technical breaking changes you need to be aware of as a technician working with Livingdocs. No user-facing features are affected. Please read the Technical Release Notes for a comprehensive list of changes that may affect your newsroom.
