OPEN POSITIONS

Product Manager (70%-100%)

Help us shape the future of media technology

You understand that great products come from listening, iterating and staying close to the people who use them. You are someone who sees both the big picture and the finer details. Your curiosity about how things work empowers you to figure out how they could work even better. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

In the role of Product Manager, you will:

  1. develop a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points and workflows through research and direct engagement in order to inform impactful product-related decisions

  2. own the entire product development lifecycle, from discovery to implementation, while driving continuous iterations and improvements based on data and feedback

  3. define and execute the product strategy and roadmap while structuring work packages and collaborating closely with Design and Engineering in order to produce exceptional outcomes

  4. maintain clear, transparent communication regarding product strategy, decision rationale and outcomes with internal teams as well as external stakeholders

  5. analyse customer feedback and market insights to define clear, actionable product requirements that deliver measurable value

What you bring

You have experience working with software development teams and thrive in a product-focused environment. You bring a user-centered mindset, and you are energised and inspired to solve real-world media problems. You are excited to dive into the world of journalism — and if you have previously worked in a newsroom or media company (or as a Product Manager), even better. You are fluent in German and English, and can translate complex ideas into clear, actionable communication for diverse audiences. Your excellent relationship-building skills enable you to connect with customers and external partners, as well as to collaborate internally with cross-functional teams.

What we offer

We are a company of 25 people (and growing) that values autonomy and conscious collaboration. As a member of the Livingdocs team, you can expect:

  1. a hybrid work model: enjoy the flexibility of remote work combined with meaningful in-person connection at our office in the center of Zurich, just 10 minutes on foot from the Main Station

  2. a space where learning and growth is encouraged and we support each other to evolve every day

  3. a culture where your ideas matter and your work has genuine, visible impact

  4. competitive salaries, a yearly generous hardware budget and team retreats to recharge and reconnect

  5. an office culture that values togetherness with weekly check-ins and casual lunch get-togethers for those who wish to join

Your impact

As our Product Manager, you will play a central role in shaping the evolution of our company. Your work will directly influence how thousands of users create, collaborate and publish content every day.

Does this resonate with you? Then we want to hear your story. Please send your CV and a short letter of motivation sharing why this role speaks to you to Sharon Funke, Head of Product Management: sharon@livingdocs.io

We actively encourage applications from:

  1. people from underrepresented groups in tech

  2. career changers bringing fresh ideas and perspectives

  3. individuals with non-traditional educational background

  4. professionals from journalism, media or related fields looking to transition into product management

Publishing has never been easier with you as our Product Manager.

Software Developer for Customer Solutions

About the role

At Livingdocs, we provide our JavaScript-based product as a fully managed service for media companies. As a Software Developer in our Customer Solutions team, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts for our existing customers.

The news publishing industry must constantly innovate as it drives and reflects many technological trends and societal shifts. In this environment you will actively manage customer projects and work with product owners, project managers and developers to improve setups and workflows and spread best practices and optimisations.

You will work within the team on continually improving our processes, workflows and automations across all projects while elevating the team's knowledge and upskilling our more junior developers. You will support the team in effectively organising the workload between projects and be an essential part of the team's collaboration.

Example tasks

To get a better idea of what you'll be doing in this role, here are some real examples. Depending on your experience you might not encounter all of these from the beginning. We look to play to people's strengths and give you a good environment in which to learn and grow.

  1. Become an account manager for some of our key customers, working with their project managers and with our Editorial Consulting team to push their projects forward with new features, requirements and our bi-monthly product releases

  2. Implement code and test solutions for customers including performing regular deployments to test, stage and production environments

  3. Support our customers' developers in integrating their delivery pipeline while using learnings across multiple projects to create and advocate for best practices

  4. Implement optimal solutions for common problems our customers face and create guidelines and documentation with our staff engineers to roll these out across our installations

  5. Improve our efficiency by automating deployments, quality control and testing

  6. Develop integrations that use the feature-set of Livingdocs for customer needs (e.g. write AI-based Livingdocs Assistants), while collaborating with the team and helping to improve our best practices and create sustainable solutions.

  7. Investigate reports of bugs by replicating in a suitable environment before producing a solution or report

  8. Work with our DevOps team to understand how our customer infrastructure performs in production, aiming to enhance its reliability and efficiency

Requirements

  1. A growth mindset and a broad interest in web technologies

  2. Strong communication skills and the ability to jump between complex topics

  3. Willingness to take on project and account management

  4. 1+ years of experience

  5. Fluency in JavaScript and experience with Node.js

  6. Ability to work with Git and the command line

  7. Familiar with the concepts of Docker and npm

  8. Good verbal and written English and German communication skills

  9. Forthcoming and communicative personality

  10. Swiss or EU citizen

As a growing company, we are focused on expanding our team consciously and with care, driven by a long-term, sustainable perspective. We are dedicated to helping our team develop their skills and potential. We provide a working environment that offers considerable freedom in organising your work. We offer the option for a hybrid working schedule, allowing for remote work when appropriate, and encouraging a vibrant office culture with weekly in-person team check-ins (and frequent lunch get-togethers if you're into that) in the heart of Zurich.

If you're up for the challenge and want to join a team of excellent engineers from whom you can learn and grow while supporting and managing a mature, complex product, we want to hear from you. Salaries are competitive and we offer perks such as team retreats and a yearly hardware budget.

If you feel like you would be a great fit for this role, please send your CV and cover letter to Marc Bachmann.
